On 4 February 2024, the Human Fraternity Majlis marked the fifth anniversary of the Document on Human Fraternity at the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi.

Government officials, international dignitaries and VVIP guests gathered at a venue shaped by the presence of three places of worship. Evolution’s creative task was to build on that setting and create an environment where discussion, multilingual communication and hospitality supported the principles of dialogue and coexistence.

The event was designed around different levels of interaction throughout the programme. Stage design, seating, multilingual translation, private meeting areas and rooftop hospitality created a connected guest journey, supporting formal discussions, smaller conversations and high-level engagement as the occasion progressed.

The Challenge

The main discussion needed to support more than ten speakers and an audience of 200 while maintaining clarity, intimacy and equal visibility for participants. Multilingual translation requirements added another layer of complexity, making accessibility an integral part of the event experience rather than a separate technical function.

The guest journey also extended beyond the main majlis setting. VVIP waiting and meeting areas required privacy and comfort, while the post-event rooftop experience needed to feel connected to the wider programme and architecture without replicating the formality of the discussion space.

The Solution

Evolution designed the event concept and all branding artwork as one cohesive identity. A complete lobby fit-out introduced the programme through branded elements before guests reached the main discussion space and speaker area.

The stage was designed around a conversational format, allowing multiple speakers to participate within an open and balanced setting. Audio systems for 200 attendees, support for more than ten simultaneous speakers and translation booths created a clear multilingual discussion environment that enabled all participants to engage equally.

A private meeting environment and waiting room provided VVIP guests with a discreet setting for high-level interaction. Custom furniture and finishes were selected to complement the Abrahamic Family House, creating a considered temporary environment that respected the significance of the venue.

On the rooftop, catering and lounge areas extended the programme into a more informal setting. Views towards the mosque, church and synagogue reinforced the connection between the event’s message and the unique architectural context surrounding it.

Outcome

The completed environment allowed dialogue to take different forms while maintaining a unified identity. Public discussion, multilingual participation, private meetings and informal hospitality each had a setting suited to their purpose, creating a seamless experience throughout the programme.

By responding directly to the Abrahamic Family House and its architectural context, the event environment reinforced the values behind the gathering. Coexistence was reflected not only through the discussions themselves, but through the way guests interacted, connected and moved through the venue.

For UAE National Day 2019, Evolution was asked to develop an original public activation for the Founders Memorial in Abu Dhabi. The experience needed to honour the legacy of Sheikh Zayed while encouraging visitors to engage more deeply with the site and its meaning.

The memorial already has a distinct language of material, proportion and quiet dignity. Evolution's design therefore began with observation rather than addition, drawing from the site's finishes and humble elegance to create an activation that felt naturally connected to its surroundings.

The resulting concept centred on Ghaf trees and public participation, allowing visitors to contribute to a living symbol associated with resilience, heritage and national identity.

The Challenge

A National Day activation at a memorial cannot rely on spectacle alone. It must remain respectful of the place, accessible to a broad public audience and durable enough to operate throughout a month-long period.

The relocation of Ghaf trees introduced practical guest-engagement and operational requirements. The interactive element needed to be understandable and welcoming while preserving the calm visual character of the memorial.

The Solution

Evolution designed elegant wooden planting boxes with a minimal form and refined finish inspired by the Founders Memorial. Their restrained appearance allowed the Ghaf trees and the act of participation to remain the focus.

The planting elements were positioned as part of the site's wider experience rather than as a temporary stand-alone attraction. Visitors could engage with the relocation of the trees and connect the National Day moment with ideas of stewardship, continuity and shared responsibility.

Evolution managed the guest-engagement process and operational support across the activation's month-long run. The approach combined a simple interaction with careful onsite management, maintaining accessibility and consistency over an extended public programme.

By using the memorial's own aesthetic as the starting point, the activation added meaning without visually competing with the architecture or the legacy it represents.

The activation gave visitors a quiet and tangible way to participate in National Day at the Founders Memorial. The Ghaf trees connected the occasion to continuity and care, while the planting boxes appeared as a natural extension of the site.

Its impact came from restraint: a simple public action, carefully designed, allowed the memorial and Sheikh Zayed's legacy to remain central throughout the month-long experience.

From 30 November to 12 December 2023, the UAE Pavilion at Expo City Dubai offered COP28 visitors an interactive cultural experience celebrating the traditional crafts, knowledge and heritage of the UAE.

Evolution collaborated with the National Projects Office to create a space in which sustainability was communicated through lived cultural practice rather than abstract messaging alone. Traditional making, resource use and relationships with the natural environment became the central visitor content.

The experience connected modular scenic design, live artisans, ambassador-led interpretation and day-to-night technical support. Guests could watch, ask questions and participate, turning heritage into an active encounter rather than a static display.

The Challenge

The pavilion needed to present several cultural subjects within one coherent environment: gahwa preparation, date palms, traditional medicine, hunting traditions and marine crafts. Each required enough context to be understood while maintaining an intuitive route through the wider space.

The installation also had to align with COP28 sustainability objectives and operate continuously across the conference period. Modular elements, live demonstrations, lighting, audio and host activity therefore needed to remain adaptable, durable and consistent from daytime operation into evening.

The Solution

Evolution developed a modular display solution that blended with the surrounding pavilion environment and supported reuse and efficient installation. The design created distinct cultural stations within one connected experience, allowing visitors to explore different aspects of Emirati heritage without the space feeling fragmented.

Guests encountered gahwa prepared over an open fire, the importance of date palms, traditional medicine and the UAE’s historic relationships with hunting and marine life. Live artisans demonstrated traditional crafts in front of visitors, keeping the skills, materials and techniques behind each practice visible and creating opportunities for direct interaction.

Ayallah performances introduced a collective cultural rhythm, while ambassadors guided visitors through the experience and provided deeper context around each cultural practice. This helped connect individual demonstrations into a wider narrative of Emirati heritage.

Lighting and audio solutions supported the environment as conditions shifted from day to night. Evolution coordinated artisans, installations, hosts and visitor engagement as one cohesive cultural experience throughout the UAE Pavilion.

For Saudi National Day 2022, Cirque du Soleil presented a large-scale performance in Riyadh built around expressive stage design, performers and custom scenic objects.

Evolution collaborated with renowned stage designer Stéphane Roy to translate the creative vision into a complete physical production. The role was one of disciplined realisation: preserving the artistry of the original designs while resolving how every component would be engineered, fabricated, transported and installed.

The result was a scenic system in which structural performance and visual storytelling were inseparable. Props, automated elements and stage components needed to feel theatrical onstage while meeting the practical demands of an international touring-standard production.

The Challenge

Complex scenic concepts often begin as expressive forms rather than construction packages. Each design had to be converted into buildable geometry, material specifications, structural details and mechanisms without losing the movement or character intended by the stage designer.

The production was fabricated in Dubai and delivered to Riyadh. That made transport planning, packing, reassembly and installation part of the design process, because every element had to arrive in sequence and perform exactly as intended on the Saudi stage.

The Solution

Evolution developed the technical design for the complete scenic package, converting the supplied creative direction into detailed fabrication and construction solutions.

The build drew on metalwork, carpentry, 3D production, fibreglass, automation, electronics and specialist painting. This mix allowed structural scenic components and bespoke stage props to carry both the visual detail and physical resilience required by the performance.

Automation and electronic systems were integrated into the scenic construction where movement or live control formed part of the design. These systems were tested alongside the physical components rather than treated as separate technical additions.

All elements were prepared for cross-border transport from the UAE to Saudi Arabia, then installed and assembled in Riyadh through a coordinated production sequence designed around the show programme.

In December 2021, ADNOC combined its Jubilee with the UAE's 50th National Day in a full-day event for employees and their families. The occasion needed to recognise the company's milestones, celebrate the people behind them and express optimism about the future.

Evolution developed a series of installations around three ideas: memory, identity and collective commitment. Employee stories represented the organisation's human legacy, familiar ADNOC symbols connected the event to daily working life, and the Pledge booth linked participants across eight locations.

The celebration therefore moved beyond anniversary branding, giving employees and families several ways to see themselves within ADNOC's history and future direction.

The Challenge

A dual Jubilee and National Day celebration carries multiple narratives. ADNOC's corporate history, the UAE's national milestone, employee recognition and future ambition all needed to be present without becoming a collection of unrelated displays.

The experience also extended across eight ADNOC locations through the Pledge booth, requiring a participatory feature that could create a shared sense of unity beyond the principal event site.

The Solution

Evolution created a gallery of the 50 most inspiring employee stories, placing personal achievement at the centre of the anniversary narrative. The gallery turned the organisation's history into a collection of individual contributions that colleagues and families could recognise and discuss.

A supersized #50more installation shifted attention from the milestone already reached to the future ahead. Its scale made it a focal point and photography feature, while the wording linked ADNOC's Jubilee with continued progress.

A branded wall made from helmets in the colours of the UAE flag connected national pride with ADNOC's field culture. The familiar safety object was reassembled as a collective symbol, bringing operational identity into the celebratory environment.

The Pledge booth was synchronised across eight ADNOC locations, allowing employees in different places to participate in a shared expression of commitment. Evolution coordinated the physical installation and technical connection so the activation could operate as one company-wide moment.

Evolution built the creative response around Abu Dhabi Airports’ three core values: Committed, Collaborative and Exceptional. Each value was translated into a distinct event zone, creating a spatial journey where guests could explore the brand through movement, activity and atmosphere.

The result was a National Day celebration where culture, entertainment, hospitality and family participation were integrated with the organisation’s identity. Each element was designed to reflect the values of Abu Dhabi Airports while creating an engaging experience for employees, families and guests.
